‘Osimhen is better than Rashford, Haaland’ – Fans react as Nigerian star reaches 100 career goals
Victor Osimhen reached a career milestone of scoring 100 goals which he accomplished in Napoli’s 2-0 Serie A win at Sassuolo on Friday night.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia gave the Partenopei the lead in the 12th minute before Osimhen doubled the lead with a brilliant effort from a very tight angle.
It took the Nigeria international’s tally for the season to 18 goals in 19 matches, extending his lead over compatriot Ademola Lookman on the top scorer’s chart.
Not only was the night about Osimhenโs 100th goal, he also became the first Napoli player to score in seven consecutive Serie A matches since under the three points system. He also reached a century of goals faster than the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Didier Drogba.
Fans could not resist taking to social media to rave about the former Lille man’s continuous improvement and style of play which some believe puts him above two other in-form players in Manchester Unitedโs Marcus Rashford and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
