Rasmus Hojlund: Man Utd striker makes history with Player of the Month award

Rasmus Hojlund has been in blistering form since the start of the new year, and the Manchester United striker has been rewarded with the Premier League’s Player of the Month award for February for his immense prowess in front of goal.

The 21-year-old former Atalanta forward makes history with his win as he becomes the first-ever Danish player to win the Player of the Month award in the English top flight.

Hojlund fended off competition from Bukayo Saka (Arsenal), Phil Foden (Manchester City), Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa), Rodrigo Muniz (Fulham), Pascal Gross (Brighton & Hove Albion), and Joao Gomes (Wolverhampton Wanderers) to win the award, becoming the second Man Utd player to claim the honor this season after Harry Maguire in November.

The Red Devils No. 11 was involved in six goals in the month of February, the most of any player in the league, as he scored five and provided one assist. He scored in all four of his Premier League appearances in February, helping Erik Ten Hag’s men win each match.

Hojlund scored once at Molineux against Wolves before scoring United’s opener in their 3-0 win against West Ham at Old Trafford. The Denmark international scored once more against Aston Villa and bagged a brace in their 2-1 win over Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.

His brace against Luton helped him become the youngest player to score in six consecutive Premier League matches, and his opener in the match was United’s fastest goal away from home in Premier League history.
