Saudi Arabian Pro League side Al-Hilal have made a world- record $332 million bid for Paris Saint-Germain stay Kylian Mbappe on Monday.

PSG have confirmed the offer and have given Al-Hilal the green light to open negotiations directly with Mbappe.

The 2018 World Cup winner is currently in a contract standoff with PSG after opting not to extend his deal at the Parc des Princes which expires next summer.

The 24-year-old Frenchman intends to walk out as a free agent next summer to push a move to Real Madrid who have long been linked with him. PSG did not include Mbappe their preseason tour of Japan, with the French club determined to sell him unless he can be convinced to sign a new contract.

The bid for Mbappe would make him the most expensive transfer in history, beating the $262 million PSG paid Barcelona for Neymar in 2017.

It continues Saudi Arabia’s push the attract some of football biggest players with the likes of Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Roberto Firmino, Kalidou Koulibaly, Marcelo Brozovic among others all moving to the oil-rich Arabian Gulf.
