Fans around the football world have been raving about Mohammed Kudus following his fine form at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, scoring twice and assisting one in Ghana’s first two games.

After losing to Portugal in their opening match in Qatar, the 22-year-old Ajax midfielder inspired the Black Stars to their first victory in a thrilling game on Monday afternoon.

Kudus’ brace sealed an important 3-2 victory for Ghana in their Group H match against South Korea to keep their hopes of qualification alive.

He became the first Ghanaian to score a brace at a World Cup tournament and the second youngest African to score two goals in a single World Cup game after Ahmed Musa did so for Nigeria against Argentina in 2014.

In their final group stage match against Luis Suarez and the Uruguayan national team on Friday at the Al Janoub Stadium, Kudus and his colleagues have a score to settle following the controversial handball incident in the 2010 quarterfinals that resulted in the Black Stars losing on penalties.
