Nigeria striker Terem Moffi scored a first-half brace to lead Lorient to a 2-1 win over Clermont in Sunday’s Ligue 1 game.

Moffi scored his first goal of the season from the penalty spot in the 24th minute, to give Lorient an early lead. He later found the back of the net with four minutes left before half-time.

Clermont, however, battled to half the deficit with Muhammed Saracevic scoring in the 62nd minute.

In the 73rd minute, coach Regis Le Bris decided to change the Super Eagles forward for Guinea star Ibrahima Kone.

Another Nigeria star, Innocent Bonke was also in action for Lorient but he started on the bench and he was introduced in the 82nd minute.

The result was Lorient’s second Ligue 1 win of the season and it pushed them to the fifth spot in the table with seven points after three matches.

Next up for Moffi and Bonke’s Lorient is a trip to Lens for Wednesday’s league fixture.
