AFCON: Mixed Reactions Trail CAF’s Team Of The Group Stage
Reactions have continue to trail the team of the group stage at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire released by the Confederation of African Football.
The African football governing body on Thursday night released a list of Eleven which has three Senegalese, four Moroccans, two players from Equatorial Guinea and one each from DR Congo and Angola.
Leading the attack is Equatorial Guinea’s 34 year old Emilio Nsue who scored 5 goals in the group stage, also upfront are Gelson Dala of Angola, as well as Ismaila Sarr from Senegal.
Sofyan Amrabat of Morocco gets the top rating in the defensive midfield position, he’s joined by Senegal’s Lamine Camara and Azzedine Ounahi of Morocco.
Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi and Nayef Aguerd are joined in the defense by Arthur Masuaku of DR Congo and Senegal’s Kalidou Koulibaly , while Equatorial Guinea’s Jesus Owongo was selected at the goalkeeper of the group stage .
While some Nigerians believe the Super Eagles didn’t put up any outstanding show in the group stage, others made case for Ola Aina and Calvin Bassey who were decent for the three time African Champions all through the group stage.
Calvin bassey was very good too

Other Nigerians are also of the opinion that CAF’s decision to snub Nigerians will spur the Super Eagles to come out stronger when they file out against Cameroon in their round of 16 clash on Saturday at the Stade Felix Houphouet Boigny, Abidjan.
