With the conclusion of group stage games at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire, familiar faces are in contention for the biggest African football showpiece in the West African country, however, there are Eight teams in the round of 16 who haven’t won the title before.

Cameroon, five time winners in 1984, 1988, 2000, 2002 and 2017 are up against three time African Champions Nigeria who won in 1980, 1994 and 2013.

Cup holders Senegal who have only lifted the title once will square up with hosts Cote D’Ivoire who also conquered Africa in 1992 and 2015.

Most successful team in the Competition, the Pharaohs of Egypt who triumphed in 1957, 1959, 1986, 1998, 2006, 2008 and 2010 have been drawn to face one time winners Democratic Republic of Congo the 1974 Champions.

Morocco and South Africa also lock horns in one of the games, they have one title each to their name in 1976 and 1996 respectively.

The Eagles of Mali, Stallions of Burkina Faso, Angola, Namibia, Cape Verde, Mauritania, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea Conakry are the eighth teams left in the tournament who haven’t won it in the past
