Premier League: Man Utd boss Ten Hag delivers verdict on Hojlund availability
Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag revealed on Friday that the club’s summer signing Rasmus Hojlund is fit and ready to feature in their weekend clash against Arsenal in the Premier League.
Since joining the Red Devils, the Denmark international has been out with a back injury he suffered during pre-season with his former club, Atalanta.
However, Ten Hag said during his pre-match conference that the 20-year-old is now fit to play after training with the first team all through the week.
“Yes, he had a good training week,” the former Ajax manager said. “Tomorrow, we have our final training, but he’s doing well; he’s responding well.
“So, yeah, he’ll be available for Sunday’s game.”
Hojlund, who was unveiled during United’s final pre-season game at Old Trafford against French side RC Lens, has missed the 20-time English champions opening three league games against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Tottenham Hotspurs, and Nottingham Forest.
Although the former Copenhagen forward will be returning to the side for the huge test, Ten Hag confirmed that the likes of Amad Traore, Tom Heaton, Tyrell Malacia, Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, and Raphael Varane all remain out of the match due to injury.
United will travel to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, September 3 to take on the Gunners in what is the biggest fixture of the weekend in the English topflight, and they will be hoping to get a win in North London, something that has evaded them in the Premier League since 2017.
