AFCON 2021 quarterfinal: Gambia v Cameroon – match facts
The Indomitable Lions are on the quest to win the AFCON title for the sixth time, while the Scorpions are appearing at the continental showpiece for the first time. It is a clash between the master and the underling.
The first four matches of Gambia would have sent a message to the Cameroon camp that the little scorpion could harm the “mighty” Lion. It would be interesting, though, to see how the Scorpions will handle the Indomitable Lions.

Gambia v Cameroon – match facts
This will be the first AFCON encounter between the Gambia and Cameroon.
This is the second time after 1972 group stage that the Indomitable Lions will be facing debutants consecutively. They faced Comoros in the round of 16 and now Gambia in the quarterfinals.
Cameroon have won their last three matches against debutants including their hard fought victory against Comoros (2-1) in the round of 16.
Gambia are on the verge of becoming the first debutant to reach the semi-finals after South Africa in 1996 who went on the win the tournament.
Player in focus: Vincent Aboubakar has scored 6 goals so far in the tournament, scoring in all the three group matches and round of 16. The Cameroon captain could become the first player at AFCON to score in all five matches of the tournament.
