#WeAreallIdrissa: Fans shows support for PSG’s Gueye after homophobia accusations
Football enthusiasts have shown their solidarity for PSG’s Senegalese midfielder Idrissa Gueye after he was accused of homophobia.
Gueye opted to miss PSG’s Ligue 1 fixture against Montpellier on May 14 because of ‘personal reasons’ after players across the French top-flight wore rainbow-coloured jerseys to mark International Day against Homophobia.
On Tuesday, the French Football Federation (FFF) through its Ethnics committee requested the Senegal international to explain his stance on the situation and also wear the jersey.
In a show of solidarity, Senegal President Macky Sall has called on the football body to represent Gueye’s religious belief.

Saudi Arabia top-flight club Al-Taawoun also showed their support with a message while Gueye’s international teammates – Crystal Palace’s Cheikhou Kouyate and Abdou Diallo also joined in the solidarity.
