‘Unambitious Kane’ – Fans react as Tottenham crash out of Champions League
Tottenham Hotspur have been eliminated from the UEFA Champions League after playing out a goalless draw with AC Milan in the second leg of the Round of 16, following their 1-0 loss from the first leg.
It was a game the Lilywhites failed to inspire as Cristian Romero was sent off for two bookable offences. Attention was, however, fixed on talisman Harry Kane, who has now seen another chance for silverware slip from his gasp.
Although the 29-year-old is Spurs’ leading scorer with 268 goals as well as the England national team with 53 strikes, silverware has eluded him in such an illustrious career, and fans have taken to social media to express their views on the prolific forward, with some insisting Kane’s career will have no meaning if he remains at Tottenham and should rather join bigger club sides where trophies are guaranteed.
