204views

LeBron James became the all-time leading scorer in the NBA with 38,390 points after surpassing the 39-year record previously held by Los Angeles Lakers legend Karim Abdul-Jabbar.

James scored 38 points in 34 minutes in the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday, but it was his shot late in the third quarter that made sure he edged Abdul-Jabbar, who was also in attendance as the Crypto.om Arena crowd rose to acknowledge the four-time NBA Most Valuable Player’s greatness.

Former teammates, rivals, experts and fans around the world heaped praise on the man dubbed “The King”, as they were all in awe of his undeniable legacy.

James has played 44 games this season, and he is averaging 30.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 7 assists in 36.4 minutes per game, as he and the Lakers continue their push for a play-off spot.
