Senegal sink Equatorial Guinea 3-1 to set up semi final tie with Burkina Faso

The Teranga Lions of Senegal are through to the semi finals of the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Senegal comfortably beat Equatorial Guinea 3-1 to cruise to the semis.

Famara Diedhiou, assisted by star man Sadio Mane, scored first goal of the game in the 28the minute.

But dogged Equatorial Guinea levelled up the score through J.B.
Sam in the 57th minute.

Cheikhou Kouyate scored to regain the lead for the Senegalese before Ismaila Sarr put the icing on the cake with the third goal.

Senegal will now face Burkina Faso in the last four.

And so Equatorial Guinea’s journey comes to an end, but they can hold their heads high after a memorable tournament in which they defeated defending champions Algeria and knocked out Mali.

Senegal, with the pain of losing the 2019 final still fresh in their mind, march on into the last-four.
