Outrage as Chelsea drop out of Premier League top half

278views

It was another disappointing weekend for Chelsea fans as they lost 2-0 to Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge in Saturday’s late Premier League match which pushed them out of the top half of the table.

It looked like the Blues were in resurgence when they won back-to-back games against Leeds United and Leicester City coupled with a 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League which sent them through to the quarter-finals.

However, goals from Ollie Watkins and John McGinn on Saturday evening brought back memories of the poor form Chelsea have been known for this season.

The defeat drops them down to 11th on the table with Villa moving above them into ninth, and fans have grown frustrated with how things are going at the club after a spending spree in the last two transfer windows. There is also discontent with manager Graham Potter who some think his time in West London is up.
