Nigerian forward, Victor Osimhen will not be at the 33rd Nations Cup in Cameroon, this is as confirmed by the Nigeria Football Federation earlier today.
Earlier, the attendance of Victor Osimhen, who tested positive to Covid-19, has been in doubt.
Ademola Olajire, the NFF’s spokesperson, in a statement, opined that: “Lively forward Victor Osimhen’s positive test to the coronavirus pandemic a couple of days ago and injury to the versatile Abdullahi Shehu has constrained changes to Nigeria’s final 28-man list for the 33rd Africa Cup of Nations starting in Cameroon next weekend.”
Four new players have been invited to the Super Eagles camp for AFCON 2022 over the health concerns and injuries of some players.
The new players to Nigeria’s AFCON list are Peter Olayinka who plies his trade in the Czech Republic as a forward, right back Tyrone Ebuehi, England –based Oluwasemilogo, and Henry Onyekuru who plays for his club in Greece.
Meanwhile, Emmanuel Dennis has also been ruled out of the Nigerian representatives at AFCON 2021 due to a late invitation claim by his club, the Premiership side, Watford FC.
