‘Off to play Golf’ – Fans mock Gareth Bale after Wales loss to Iran
The second round of fixtures at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar commenced earlier today with a rare two-nil victory for Iran over Wales in their Group B match.
The Persian Stars sealed all three points with two added-time goals from substitutes Rouzbeh Cheshmi and right-back Ramin Rezaeian after goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey picked up the first red card of the tournament.
Meanwhile, fans around the world have ripped into Wales’ captain Gareth Bale for his underwhelming display in the shocking defeat for ‘The Dragons’ against underdog Iran, who suffered an embarrassing 6-2 defeat to England.
