Nigeria’s Ime Udoka named NBA Eastern Coach of the Month
Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka has been named NBA Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for March and April.
Udoka who also won the Eastern Conference Coach of the Month in February, was honoured on Tuesday after helping the Celtics finish the Eastern regular season in the second spot.

He is the second coach in Boston Celtics history to win multiple Coach of the Month awards in the same season since the 2007-08 campaign (Doc Rivers).
Udoka led Boston Celtics’ revival after suffering a dip halfway through the season, and they ended the 2021-22 regular season with 51 wins.
The 44-year-old landed his first managerial job in June 2021 as Boston Celtics head coach after playing assistant roles at San Antonio Spurs, Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets.
In 2014, the former D’Tigers star was part of the coaching crew that helped San Antonio Spurs win the NBA title.
Udoka represented Nigeria on the international scene during his playing career, and he won bronze with the country at the 2005 and 2011 FIBA Africa Championships.
