Nigeria is Unmoved in the Latest FIFA Rankings

Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, and Ghana are unmoved in the latest FIFA rankings published by the world football governing body.

Nigeria maintains its position as the 5th best team in Africa and the 36th best team in the world with 1478 points in December FIFA rankings. The black stars of Ghana that is aiming to win the CAF Africa nations cup for the fifth time retain its position as the 8th best team in Africa and ranks 52nd in the world.

South Africa will not be participating in the CAF Africa nation’s cup 2021 ranks 13th place in Africa and 68th in the world. Kenya will be missing out on Afcon 2021. However, they maintain their 22nd position in Africa and 102nd position in the world.

Senegal ranks first in Africa and 20th in the world with 1561 points, while Morocco ranks second and occupies 28th position worldwide with 1529 points.

Algeria, Afcon reigning champions, are third in Africa and 30th in the world. Cameroon, the host of the 2021 CAF Africa nations cup, ranks seventh in Africa and 50th in the world.

Equatorial Guinea records +59.78 points to move to 114th in the world. That is extraordinary progress made by the National Thunder. Comoros will be featuring for the first time in the 2021 CAF Africa nations as the 38th best team in Africa and 132nd globally.

Belgium ranks first in the world with 1828 points, leading Brazil that ranks second with 1826 points by approximately 2 points. The 2018 world cup winner, France ranks third, England, fourth, and Argentina, fifth.

The next men’s FIFA ranking will be out on February 10, 2022.
