The President of Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe says Africa and indeed Nigeria can host the FIFA World Cup in future.

The CAF President while addressing the media today at the Main Media Centre, Palace of Culture in Trenchville, Abidjan hailed Cote D’Ivoire for hosting a very successful tournament and told the continent to be prepared for a bigger picture.

The only time Africa has hosted the World Cup was in 2010 in South Africa, but the South African billionaire has challenged Nations on the continent to get prepared to replicate what his country did 14 years ago.

With Nigeria locking horns with hosts Cote D’Ivoire in the final of the AFCON on Sunday, Dr. Motsepe said he would personally inform the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to prepare a bid to host the World Cup.

“I know the president of Nigeria is coming for the final, I’ll ask him to put in a bid for Nigeria to host the World Cup (smile)”

Meanwhile, report says President Bola Tinubu will be accompanied by twenty governors to the grand finale of the AFCON on Sunday.
