Musa Not Considering Retirement Yet
Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has hinted that he could still take part in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations even if Nigeria wins the 34th edition of the tournament tomorrow.
Musa was at the Pre Match Press conference ahead of Sunday’s final alongside coach Jose Peseiro.
The former Leicester City and CSKA Moscow winger is yet to feature for the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the ongoing AFCON despite being the captain, but he said he’s not bothered as long as the team keeps winning.
He said “In the past, I have played for people to win and celebrate, so it’s my turn to also watch others play and win for me”.
On his National team future, Musa who was in the Nigerian squad that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa under late Coach Stephen Keshi made it known that he will always make himself available whenever he’s invited to the national team.
“Anytime I’m called to play, I will be ready”
This hint suggests the Ex Kano Pillars man is not considering retirement yet and might turn up for subsequent world cup qualifiers and even the 2025 AFCON in Morocco
