Hannibal Mjebri headlines Tunisia Final AFCON 2021 squad
Tunisia Coach, Kebaier, announced his final squad list for Afcon 2021. The list includes the 18-year old Manchester united rising star, Hannibal Mjebri, making his first appearance at the Africa cup of Nations.
Hannibal Mjebri was the surprise name in the 28-man Tunisia Afcon squad unveiled by Kebaier on Thursday. Hannibal Mjebri earned his place in the Tunisia Afcon Squad after an impressive outing at the FIFA Arab Cup. The list also includes Arsenal startlet Omar Rekik.
The squad also features home based players like Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane, Ghilane Chaalali, Mohamed Amin bin Hmida. The trio play for Esperance in Tunisia. Majority of the players in the squad play professionally in Tunisia and Egypt.
The notable omissions in the Tunisia Afcon 2021 squad were Al-Moez Hassan, Club Africain, Ferjani Sassi, Al Duhail, Fakhredine bin Youssef, Pyramids, and Saad Beguir, Saudi Abha.
The Carthage Eagles are making their 20th appearance in the Africa Cup of Nations at Cameroon, winning the championship once, on home soil in 2004. For Afcon 2021, the North Africa side will kick off their campaign to win the tournament for the second time against Mali on January 12 before playing Mauritania on January 16. They will play their last group stage match against Gambia on January 20.
