‘Koulibaly was supposed to be our Van Dijk’ – Chelsea fans react to defeat against Newcastle Utd
Following Chelsea’s 1-0 loss to Newcastle United in Saturday’s Premier League game, fans have taken to social media to criticise Kalidou Koulibaly’s performance.
Graham Potter’s side conceded their third straight loss in the English top-flight after Joe Willock scored the only game of the encounter in the 67th minute.
Koulibaly struggled to make an impact at St James’ Park, with just one tackle completed and no interception. He also completed the most fouls in Potter’s team, which resulted in a yellow card during the game.
In reacting to the Senegalese’s abysmal outing, fans tagged Koulibaly as Chelsea’s worst player who has not lived up to expectations since his signing from Napoli in the summer.

Koulibaly has disappointed me. I hope we don’t regret that 3 years contract. I said it then, he’s old enough for us to avoid that deal. We didn’t even sign Silva to a long deal when he joined from PSG. That’s why I was against it. We can only hope he comes good next season.
