INTERVIEW: Frimpong hints on how Arsenal can stop Man Utd

366views

Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has advised Mikel Arteta’s men to play attacking football against Manchester United in Saturday’s Premier League match.

The Gunners are aiming to boost their top-four chances at the Emirates Stadium after grabbing crucial maximum points against Chelsea on Wednesday.

Arsenal, who are placed fifth in the Premier League, are currently level on 57 points with fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, and Frimpong has urged his former club to take advantage of the Red Devils’ leaky defence that has conceded 15 goals in their seven games in all competitions.

“They’ve got to go out and attack Manchester United especially with their defence which has not been good recently,” Frimpong told BoyleXtra. “I hope they will come out to attack because if they do, we will score some goals.

“I expect Arsenal to win 2-1.”

Despite the 4-2 win over Chelsea that ended the Gunners’ three-game losing streak, the Ghanaian does not see Arsenal overtaking the Blues but he believes they can still qualify for UEFA Champions League next season.

“I don’t think we can leapfrog Chelsea honestly, but we can still make the top-four if they win their games,” the 30-year-old added.

“If Arsenal beat Manchester United, it is going to give them a lot of boost and morale because they have got through Chelsea.

“You know, football is played on confidence and they should believe they can beat any team starting with tomorrow’s match against Manchester United.”
