Fans celebrate as Awoniyi goal secures Nottingham Forest’s Premier League survival
Taiwo Awoniyi was at it again as he scored the only goal that earned Nottingham Forest a 1-0 win over Arsenal on Saturday and guaranteed their Premier League status for next season.
The victory also handed the Premier League title to Manchester City a day before they take on Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.
Football fans were full of praise for Awoniyi as he has been in incredible goalscoring form of late after returning from two months absence with a groin injury. He has now scored five goals in his last three games, including back-to-back braces against Southampton and Chelsea.
The Ilorin-born player is now Forest’s highest goalscorer in the Premier League this season and with one game left to play against Crystal Palace, he could reach double figures for goals.
Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi's late season mad form keeps Nottingham Forest.
A month ago, he looks like they are going down but he came up with 5 goals in 3 games & a sweet one against Arsenal & saves his club.

I'm happy for Taiwo Awoniyi & Nottingham Forest.
Awonyi surviving relegation is more important.
At least, Arsenal can summarize their season as – We Try FC.
If not for Arsenal, City would have won the League since January.

Taiwo Awoniyi has 9 goals and 1 assist in 16 starts for #NFFC.
Winners against Arsenal, Liverpool, Southampton, and West Ham. Game changing goals against Chelsea and Southampton again.
Canโt wait to see him have a full season. Wouldnโt be safe without him. pic.twitter.com/LQvYvwrugT

Arsenal have forgotten that Nottingham are no more in the Forest but are now in the Premier League and they want to avoid relegation as our own Taiwo Awoniyi punished the Gunners at the City Ground if you ask me.

Taiwo Awoniyi is the most inform striker in the EPL right now.
City are champions with three games to spare.
Arsenal have zoned out of the season after the loss to Brighton.
They don't look interested.

Taiwo Awoniyi gets so many breaks. He's not the most technically gifted, but he is unfailingly honest with his effort levels and does all the right things in terms of his movement. God loves a trier. Fitting that it's his goals that have kept Forest up.

bants aside, It's going to take another 20 years for Arsenal to get this close to the league.
