Ese Brume, Amusan, Enekwechi set to feature in Nigeria Championship trial
The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has revealed the list of Nigerian athletes that will take part in the Commonwealth Games, World Championship trials in Benin, the Edo state capital.
As many as six African Games and African Athletics Championship champions are among the athletes expected in the country for the trial event that start from the 21st of June.
African Games and African Athletics Championship gold medalist in shot-put, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi is in the line-up while others are Raymond Okevwo who won the 100 metres Gold at the African Games in 2019, Ese Brume,Tobi Amusan and Oyesade Olatoye.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the AFN Head of Media, Oludare Esan stated that there are two other African Games champions yet to be confirmed for the Benin championship, Triple jumper Grace Anigbata and Javelin thrower Kelechi Nwanaga.
The World Athletics Championship is scheduled to hold in Oregon, USA next month and the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham starts on July 28.
