Douala – Japoma

Douala is one of the two largest cities in the country with Yaounde. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the city is characterized by its cultural diversity and a population estimated at 3 million inhabitants.

Built in 2019, Japoma stadium with its 50,000 covered seats is the city’s main attraction. Located at the eastern entrance of the city, Japoma Stadium features a 105x68m natural grass playing area surrounded by an 8-lane athletics track, 1 press center, 1 press stand.

As additional structures, 2 training grounds with 1000 seats, an Olympic swimming pool with 2000 seats, 1 gymnasium with 2000 seats, 4 tennis courts, 37,000m² of parking (8,000 spaces for vehicles) are part of the complex.

The stadium hosted last CHAN 2020 games.
