Done Deal: Nigerian forward Chukwueze joins AC Milan
Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze has completed a move to Italian giants AC Milan, the club announced onThursday.
The 24-year-old departs Villarreal after five years and signs a five-year deal worth around €20 million plus €8 million in add-ons to join the Rossoneri.
Chukwueze, who won the La Liga African Player of the Year Award in the 2022–23 season, helped the Yellow Submarines with 13 goals and 11 assists in 50 games last campaign, including helping them finish fifth in the Spanish top-flight.

The Nigerian started out in Villarreal’s youth system in 2017, following a move from the Nigerian-based Diamond Football Academy Youth Team. In the side’s B team, he scored four goals in 20 games, earning him a senior team call-up in September 2018.
For Villarreal, Chukwueze featured 207 times, scored 37 goals, provided 31 assists, and won the UEFA Europa League in 2021. He earned his first international call-up for the Super Eagles in 2018 and has earned 28 caps and scored four goals.
Chukwueze will wear the number 21 jersey for the 19-time Italian champions, who finished fourth in Serie A last season and will be playing the Champions League in the incoming 2023-24 campaign.
