CHAN Qualifiers: Salisu Yusuf invites 35 NPFL players for Ghana showdown
Nigeria coach Salisu Yusuf has invited 35 players from the Nigeria Professional Football League for their 2023 African Nations Championship qualifying fixture against Ghana.
The Super Eagles B team will begin camping at the Bolton White Apartments in Abuja from Wednesday and the first leg of their qualifying tie against the Black Galaxies will take place in Accra on August 28 and the return fixture is billed for the MKO Abiola National Stadium on September 3.
Victory over their West African rivals would secure Nigeria’s passage to the seventh edition of the African Nations Championship finals in Algeria next year.
NPFL top scorer and Rivers United’s goalscoring machine Chijioke Akuneto leads the selection alongside and the NPFL champions boost of eight players in the squad.
