Orlando Pirates have shown a picture of Simba SC burning ‘juju’ on the Orlando Stadium pitch, just before Sunday’s CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final encounter.

The South African giants secured a 4-3 win on penalties after settling for a 1-0 win at the end of 90 minutes which made both teams level 1-1 on aggregate.

The Bucs were the dominant side in Sunday’s clash with five shots on target in 24 attempts while their visitors sat back to push the game into a shoot-out with 10 men after Crispin Mugalu’s expulsion in the 58th minute.

However, Orlando Pirates came out victorious in the thrilling contest, thanks to goalkeeper Richard Ofori’s brilliance between the sticks and for scoring the match-winning penalty.

The thrills did not end after 90 minutes as Orlando Pirates Media Officer, Thandi Merafe shared a picture of Simba SC players burning ‘juju’ which he claims was not enough to burn down the Orlando Stadium.

Juju is believed to be a charm or ritual with spiritual belief to bring magical powers.

Following their progress to the semi-final stage, Orlando Pirates will face Libya’s Al Ahly Tripoli on May 8 as they continue the quest for their first continental title since 1996 (CAF Super Cup).
