CAF Africa cup of nations 2021 begins in a grand style- let the feast begin!
Cameroon host its first CAF Africa cup of nations after 50 years in grand style. The last time the Indomitable Lions host the Africa showpiece was in 1972.
The team of organizers dedicated their time and effort to make this Africa biennial showpiece a memorable one.
The AFCON 2021 started with an opening speech by his Excellency, the Cameroonian president, Paul Biya. Paul Biya gave a short speech. The shortest ever by an African president at the Africa cup of nations.

The AFCON 2021 opening ceremony perfectly celebrates the African cultural heritage. And most importantly, it showcases the absolute best of the Cameroonian heritage.
To Africans, the Africa cup of nations is more than a tournament, it is a festival, it is a feast, it is our world, come join us. It is where we display our culture, our values to the world. To us, it is bigger than the world cup.
The opening ceremony displays the cultures of the four zones of Cameroon- Sawa zone and Bikutsi, Njang and Bendskin from the forest and grass field zones. Different actors who represented their countries with pride and enthusiasm displayed the African nature in an exceptional manner.
Dancers dresses in different traditional attires to display the African culture. The cultural display by different actors shows the cultural diversity of Africa.
The AFCON theme song was also displayed. The song features the Ghanaian reggae artist, Samini.
Fally Ipupa, thrills the exciting spectators with his artistic performance. From the exciting spectators, Paul Biya speech to the different cultural displays, the AFCON 2021 opening ceremony won’t be forgotten in a long time.
