‘Best thing to happen to Nigeria in 2022’ – How Nigerians celebrated Tobi Amusan’s Commonwealth feat
Tobi Amusan and the Nigerian women’s relay team brought joy to Nigerians with their victories at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham on Sunday morning.
Amusan started the day by setting a new Games record of 12.30seconds to win the women’s 100m hurdles final at the Alexander Stadium.
A few minutes later, Amusan anchored the women’s relay team which had Favour Ofili, Rosemary Chukwuma and Grace Nwokocha to win the 4x100metres gold medal ahead of Jamaica, Ghana, England and Trinidad and Tobago.
The ladies’ dominance in athletics made Nigerians proud and they took to social media to react.
