Aubameyang calls for Dembele’s contract renewal at Barca
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has called on Barcelona to meet Ousmane Dembele’s demands in order to renew his contract at the club.
Dembele has reignited his career at Camp Nou after failing to secure a permanent exit in January with crucial contributions that have led to Barca’s rise in La Liga table.
He could leave the club as a free agent at the end of the season when his current five-year deal runs out.
On Sunday, the France international laid an assist for Aubameyang just before the hour-mark to cancel out Morales’ opening goal.
The contribution was Dembele’s 11th assist in La Liga this campaign and Aubameyang talks up the connection between them which started at Borussia Dortmund.
“He knows me well and I always have to get in place when he’s going up the right,” the 2015 African Footballer of the Year said via Sport. “He has to stay.”
Aubameyang is enjoying a great start to life in Spain with eight goals in nine La Liga appearances after his free transfer from Arsenal in January.
