Ahead of Friday’s Africa Cup of Nations quarter final clash between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and the Palancras Negras of Angola, Nigerians are not hiding their feelings about who they want in goal for the team.

Chippa United shot stopper Stanley Nwabali has been the team’s number one since the tournament started, featuring in all group stage games.

Nwabali was also in goal in the round of 16 as the Super Eagles defeated Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions 2-0, but was stretchered off due to injury after a collision with a Cameroonian.

Cyprus based goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho was brought in to replace the injured Nwabali, but even though he didn’t have much to do and didn’t concede a goal while he was on, Nigerians across board are hoping that South Africa based Nwabali gets over his injury and returns for Friday’s encounter with Angola

Francis Uzoho who refused to speak with the media after his cameo against Cameroon has come under heavy criticism in recent time after his error allowed Ghana’s Black stars beat Nigeria to the 2022 World Cup ticket.

Nigerians have now resolved to supporting Nwabali with prayers in order for the former Wikki Tourists Man to get better before Friday’s game

Meanwhile, coach Jose Peseiro says the severity of Nwabali’s injury will be ascertained by team doctors by the end of today.
