Cameroon and Egypt will battle it out tomorrow at the Olembe stadium, Yaounde for a place in the final. No team has more AFCON titles than these Africa giants.
Egypt has won it for a record of seven times, while Cameroon has won it five times. They face off tomorrow for a place in the final of the tournament.
The last time they met was in the Gabon, 2017 final when Cameroon defeated the Pharaohs 2-1 to lift the title.
Cameroon coach, Antonio Conceiçao has a clear objective – to win the title for the Cameroonian people.

“They have very good players, including one of the best in the world, namely Mo Salah. My players are motivated to win. We have positive pressure, but our objective is clear, to win the title for the Cameroonian people.”
Cameroon midfielder, Andre Frank Zambo also said the team is motivated to play a good match against the Pharaohs, to reach the final and win the title for the Cameroonian people.
“The group is motivated to play a good match against Egypt. We are determined to achieve a good result, go to the final and win the title. Playing at home is very special for us.
“We are committed to play this semi-final and go for the title next Sunday, for the Cameroonian people.”
Egypt is going all out to win the AFCON title for the eighth time. It eluded them in 2017, and crashed out of the 2019 edition in the round of 16.
They want to make it right in 2021, but the Pharaohs face a even bigger challenge. However, Egypt Coach, Carlos Queiroz says his players are ready for the challenge.
“To reach the semifinals is a reward for us. Facing hosts Cameroon is tough as they play very good football. We want to offer the world a pleasant match between two great African teams.
“We are ready for this semifinal. It is true that we have played two consecutive matches with extra-time, but we remain ready to play a very good match. We have the right team for this kind of games.”
Egypt goalkeeper, Mohamed El Shennawy hopes Mohamed Salah come through for them tomorrow, and win the tournament.
“It is a very important match for us against the host. We want to go as far as possible and try to win the title. Our objective since the start was to win the tournament.
“We have one of the best players in the world, Mohamed Salah, and I hope he will be in his day to give what we expect from him.”
The match start 20.00 WAT tomorrow at Paul Biya Stadium, Olembe. Mo Salah is expected to lead the attack for the Pharaohs, while Vincent Aboubakar is expected to lead the attack for the Indomitable Lions.
