Senegal and Zimbabwe have met twice at the Africa Cup of nations. First, in 2006 and second, in 2017. Senegal defeated Zimbabwe on both occasions by 2-0.

Senegal are making their 16th appearance at the 2021 CAF Africa Cup of Nations, however, they have never won the title. Their first appearance was in 1965 and last in 2019.

Senegal best performance in Afcon is a silver medal in 2002 and 2019. In 2002, they were defeated by the Indomitable Lions in the final. In 2019, they were defeated by Algeria in the final.
