AFCON 2021 closing ceremony – one to remember

AFCON 2021 ended yesterday, February 6, 2022 with an unforgettable closing ceremony.

The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations started January 9 2022 with beautiful scenery. Cameroon open the tournament with a 2-1 win against Burkina Faso. The opening ceremony was likewise colorful and exciting just as the closing ceremony.

The closing ceremony of the tournament was colorful. South Africa artist, Master KG with other African Musicians thrills the spectators with their performance.

The program was graced with the presence of Cameroon president, Paul Biya, CAF president, Dr. Patrice Motsepe and FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

It was an evening of colorful fireworks, excitement, joy, beats and music. And Master KG, the Jerusalem singer with other African singers deliver a exhilarating performance.

After the ceremony, the Teranga Lions and the Pharaohs walked into the pitch to conclude the tournament with Mane’s team lifting the AFCON title after penalties for the first time in their history at the continental showpiece.

Senegal defeated Egypt in the AFCON 2021 final, 4-2 on penalties  after playing a 0-0 draw after extra time.

Paul Biya handed Senegal captain, Kalidou Koulibaly the trophy and he lifted it with the players, followed by fireworks. That marks the end of AFCON 2021.

Yesterday was historic for Senegal being their first time of winning the championship after 16 appearances.

There is no better way to end the historic continental showpiece than the colorful ceremonial and Senegal eventually winning the title after coming close in 2002 and 2019.

Cameroon 2021 will forever be in Senegal’s history book, as the tournament they lifted their first Africa Cup of Nations.

Kudos to CAF, Kudos to Cameroon, Kudos to the organizers and Kudos to Africa for giving the world an Africa Cup of Nations to remember.
