AFCON: Uzoho Gearing Up For Angola Clash
A camp source has revealed that Cyprus based Francis Uzoho has been told to get ready for the clash with Angola on Friday as it’s unlikely that first choice Stanley Nwabali gets over his injury before the game.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on the Palancras Negras of Angola on Friday at the Stade Felix Houphouet Boigny, Abidjan, in the quarter final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, and it’s almost certain that Stanley Nwabali will miss the clash.
The Chippa United shot stopper got injured in the round of 16 of the AFCON, a 2-0 win against Cameroon.
Although head coach Jose Peseiro told the media that further assessment will be carried out on the goalkeeper by team doctors, but sources are now pessimistic about his chances.
Brace up guys,
Stanley Nwabali might miss Friday's game against Angola.
It is also obvious Jose Peseiro will start Francis Uzoho ahead of Ojo Olorunleke.
All we need to do right now is to support and encourage Nwabali's replacement.#AFCONwithOgaNlaMedia

At the team’s last training session, a source informed that the technical crew has informed Francis Uzoho that he has the team’s confidence and will be in goal for the game.
🚦Before AFCON, Uzoho kept about 5 games at club level & his performance was ok.
He seems to have his confidence back, but Nigerians don't believe in him anymore
OLORUNLEKE OJO is in between, but Peseiro will prefer to use Uzoho if Nwabali isn't available.

Nwabali has until Wednesday evening to pass a late fitness test for him to get the nod for the clash
