‘Kevin De Fraud’ – Manchester City star poked after Belgium’s loss to Morocco

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has come under intense scrutiny from fans after his underwhelming performances at Qatar’s 2022 FIFA World Cup.

In Belgium’s opening encounter against Canada, the 31-year-old midfielder was named the Budweiser Man-of-the-Match, an award fans and the player believed was not well deserved.

With two second-half goals from Abdelhamid Sabiri and Zakaria Aboukhlal, Morocco humbled Belgium 2-nil in their second group match on Sunday. However, De Bruyne struggled in the middle of the park, giving up possession 27 times and having no shots on goal – an unusual record for the Premier League star who has three goals and nine assists in England this season.

The Roberto Martinez-led side are presently third in Group F with three points, trailing only Morocco and Croatia, both of which have four points.

The four-time Premier League champion will hope to regain his form and lead his side to victory in their last group stage game against 2018 Finalist Croatia when both sides square off at the Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium on Thursday.
