Mendy blamed for Senegal’s World Cup loss to Netherlands
Senegal goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has come under heavy scrutiny for his errors that cost his team a 2-0 defeat in their 2022 FIFA World Cup opening match against the Netherlands on Monday evening.
Mendy made just one save in the entire 90 minutes and conceded two late goals at the Al Thumama Stadium as Aliou Cisse’s side kicked off their campaign in Qatar on a losing note.
Displeased by the 30-year-old’s display between the sticks, fans took to social media to blame his club form for his faulty decisions against the Dutch.

Mendy is still a good goalkeeper regardless, that cross beat the Senegal defense with Gakpo brilliantly slotting it home.
Mendy had NO chance of saving that ball with his good goalkeeping abilities even if he decided to stay put.
