‘Happy for you brother’ – Drogba welcomes Aubameyang to Chelsea
African legend Didier Drogba has congratulated former Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on his return to the Premier League to join Chelsea.
Aubameyang completed a permanent transfer from Barcelona to Stamford Bridge on Thursday and he committed himself to a two-year deal.
The Gabon star only spent seven months at Barcelona after the termination of his Arsenal contract in January and last season, he scored 13 goals in 23 matches for Barca across all competitions.
The move marks Aubameyang’s return to London after he spent four years at Arsenal where he scored 68 Premier League goals.
Drogba in a tweet on Friday morning recalled that he told Aubameyang to consider a move to Stamford Bridge and he expressed delight to finally see it happen.
The former Ivory Coast international wrote: “Finally !!!!! Remember the time we spoke about it years ago Happy for you brother, Aubameyang.”
