AFCON 2023 Qualifiers: Super Eagles start preparation for Sierra Leone game

Nigeria have commenced preparations for their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Sierra Leone and Sao & Tome Principe on June 9 and June 13 respectively.

The Super Eagles held an opening training session at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium on Sunday evening, which had captain Ahmed Musa, Ademola Lookman, Zaidu Sanusi, Cyriel Dessers, Ola Aina and William Troost-Ekong in attendance.

Jose Peseiro oversaw the session and the team will continue their training with closed sessions on Monday and Tuesday, then on Wednesday, the last 15 minutes of their training will be opened to fans and the media after the pre-game press conference.

Nigeria are focused on ending their five-game winless run in all competitions on Thursday against Sierra Leone after conceding back-to-back defeats in their last two friendly games against Mexico and Ecuador in the United States.

 

The Super Eagles’ fixture against the Leone Stars will be shown live on Afrosport – Channel 730 on FreeTV or Livestream LINK on Thursday, June 9 by 5pm
