Rohr demands $1m compensation from NFF
Former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has dragged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to the world’s football governing body (FIFA) for his unfair dismissal.
Rohr is said to be demanding a compensation package worth $1 million from the NFF after he was sacked in December 2021 despite qualifying for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and the final qualifying round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian body admitted that their legal department is on the matter and they await the decision of the FIFA tribunal before releasing a statement.
Rohr was appointed Super Eagles’ coach in August 2016 after a brief stint with Burkina Faso and he was succeeded by Augustine Eguavoen who has also been sacked by the NFF after the country qualify for the World Cup in Qatar later this year.
