All the three Comoros goalkeepers are unavailable for selection for their round of 16 clash against Cameroon after being ruled out of the match.

Ali Ahamada and Moyadh Ousseni could not make the match day squad due to covid infection, while Salim Ben Boina is ruled out of the match due to a shoulder injury

Although, Ali Ahamada was expected to return to action against the Indomitable Lions after a negative covid result, he was ruled out by the Africa football governing body.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) says the goalkeeper has not completed his mandatory 5-day isolation period after previously testing positive to the virus.

Without a goalkeeper available for selection, Comoros pick Defender Chaker Alhadhur to be between the sticks for the Coelacantes.

This was done according to the CAF regulations for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations- in a case whereby a goalkeeper is absent due to covid-19, “another player from the team must replace the goalkeeper provided the total number of players is at least eleven. “
