AFCON 2021: Nigeria will avoid complacency against Guinea-Bissau- Moses Simon
Though the third-time Africa champions are through to the round of 16, the Nantes star has declared that Nigeria will not be complacent against the Djurtus in their final group phase fixture.
Nigeria are through to the next round of the 2021 CAF Africa Cup of Nations after defeating the Falcons of Jediane in a 4-goal thriller.
However, Moses Simon, the man of the match against the Falcons said that Nigeria will avoid complacency when they battle Guinea-Bissau. The Djurtus have a single point from two games, and currently sit third in the group.
They will aim to get three points from the game against Nigeria and hope the Pharaohs have a bad game against Sudan. However, according to Simon, that may be a wishful thinking as him and his teammates will not show mercy against the Djurtus following their 3-1 defeat to Sudan.
“Every game is important for us and we will take each game step by step,” Simon speaking after the game.
“We will give our best against Guinea Bissau because the coach will not accept anything aside from victory.
“Also, anyone who is selected for that game will prove his worth and we will go all out for victory.”
The Baciro Cande’s side will be playing to win at all cost in the last group fixture against the Super Eagles come January 19, to have a chance to qualify to the next round. But Moses Simon has declared that the Super Eagles too are playing to win at all cost, no complacency!
