The Gunners had a man sent off, but held Liverpool to a 0-0 draw in the EFL Cup semifinal first leg, the tie finely poised going into the second leg at The Emirates.
Liverpool missed a great opportunity to take a lead into the second leg of the EFL Cup semifinal after Arsenal played with a man down for over an hour. Granit Xhaka was sent off after just 24 minutes, but Arsenal kept a clean sheet. The big incident came midway through the first half after Xhaka denied Diogo Jota a goalscoring opportunity.
Now, it’s all to play for at The Emirates and getting into the final to face Chelsea.
Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger scored the only goal in the second leg which means Tottenham lost 3-0 on aggregate.
