CARABAO CUP: Spurs looking for a comeback against Chelsea in second leg of Carabao semifinal clash

241views

Tottenham have it all to do in London if they intend on keeping their Carabao Cup hopes alive.

Spurs play hosts to Chelsea in their second leg semifinal trailing 2-0 on aggregate after the Blues put themselves in a good position to advance to the final a week ago at The Bridge.

Kai Havertz scored the first goal for Chelsea on the night and they extended their advantage thanks to a Ben Davies’ own goal. Their last trip to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium couldn’t have gone any better. Thomas Tuchel’s charges took all three points in the Premier League clash, scoring three unanswered goals when Nuno Espirito Santo was still in charge.
In Tottenham’s defense, they haven’t conceded more than two goals in one game since Antonio Conte arrived in November.

But the Blues will still feel confident of completing the deed. They are 10-games unbeaten in all competitions. They made light work of non-league side Chesterfield in the FA Cup over the weekend, winning 5-1. Chelsea have had 16 different goal scorers this season, almost double the number of their London rivals. Romelu Lukaku was among the goalscorers in that game, the Belgian back among the goals after being dropped by Tuchel.
Tottenham also won their FA Cup tie over the weekend, a 3-1 win over Morecambe; Harry Kane with the last goal of the night.
The spotlight will fall on both star strikers when the latest chapter of this old rivalry begins, with Spurs looking for their first victory over Chelsea in 2 years.
