The Nigerian senior national team, Super Eagles are planning a friendly against Cameroonian club Cotonsport Garoua as part of warm-up for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations holding in Cameroon.
Cotonsport’s director of communications Saliou Amadou told Cameroon sports publication Sportsglitz that the club had received a proposal from the Nigeria Football Federation for a warm-up game.
But it is uncertain if the club will accept the proposal given their tight schedule.
Cotonsport is based in the North Region of Cameroon where the Super Eagles are programmed to play their three group matches and possibly the Round of 16 encounter if they go beyond the group stage.
Earlier, the Super Eagles interim head coach Austin Eguavoen had said that despite the short time to the AFCON, he hoped his team would play a couple of test games before they open their campaign in their first group game against Egypt on January 11.
