The indomitable lions of Cameroon coach names an indomitable (pun intended) squad in their quest to win the 2021 Africa nations cup on home soil.

Toni Conceicao, the Cameroon coach, has provided the final squad lists for Afcon 2021. The 28-man final squad list includes key players, the Bayern Munich star, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Ajax’s Andre Onana, and Andre-Frank Zambo, Napoli.

Onana he is now eligible to play for Cameroon in the CAF Africa nations cup after his doping ban was lifted in November. However, there are questions whether Onana will be Cameroon number one choice goalkeeper at the tournament after no competitive play for 9 months.

Fabrice Ondoa who was instrumental in the Afcon 2017 success did not make the final list alongside Akwa’s united goalkeeper, Jean Efala, and John Mary, Avispa Fukuoka forward.

However, RC lens forward, Ignatus Ganago and Young boy’s forward, Moumi Ngamaleu made the list.

Joel Matip has reportedly told Liverpool manager, Jürgen Klopp that he will not be returning to the Cameroon national team after earlier reports claiming that the appointment of Samuel Eto’o as the president of Cameroon Football Federation will see the return of Joel Matip.

Toni Conceicao will fortify the Cameroon defense with the USA based star Nouhou Tolo, Ambroise Oyongo, Olivier Mbaizo, Collins Fai, Harold Moukodi, Enzo Ebosse, Jerome Onguene, and Michael Ngadeu-Ngadui.

Cameroon has superior attacking options with the likes of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Bayern Munich, Ignatius Ganago, Lens, Stephane Bahoken, Angers, and Moumi Ngamaleu, Young Boys.

The indomitable lions will kick-start the tournament against Burkina Faso (the Stallions) on January 9th, 2021 before taking on Ethiopia (Walia Ibex) four days later. Their final group stage game is against the blue sharks of Cape Verde. The group stage appears to be an easy ride for Cameroon, but complacency can be dangerous.
